“Purple Cones”

After camping throughout the Appalachian mountains in the summer and taking many photos of the flora in that  region, I knew that I wanted to experiment with a textured surface for my pastels so that I  would keep that ‘wild’ feel to the image. What a delight to loosen up and let the colors mingle in the little wild landscape.

The original is professionally presented with a 1 1/2″ deep  pewter frame with a delicate scroll on the top edge. The matting has a deep  space to create the feeling that you are looking at nature through a window.

The original painting was created using pastels on a textured board.
